Baibhav Parida of DAV CSPUR among the Awardees
Total 18 innovations by 21 students selected for the Prestigious Dr Abdul Kalam Ignite Award 2019 conducted by National Innovation Foundation under the aegis of Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt of India. More than 60 thousand students across the nation participated in the competition where Baibhav Parida, a class 8 student of DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur along with 3 others from Odisha selected for the award. Baibhav's idea entitled Visually Challenged Friendly Toilet comprising censor and voice modulator would go a long way to restore self esteem for visually challenged apart from a boost to Swachhata Abhiyan, opined by the jury who examined the ideas. Former President Pranab Mukherjee will honour the young innovators in a special function scheduled on 30 November at Gandhinagar. The School authorities and others congratulated Baibhav for the unique feat.
